It’s been almost a year since the last Bat City update, and unfortunately I have no excuse. The good news is that I plan on making regular updates to the site (especially since I just renewed the domain for another year.) I’ve got several posts lined up which will be appearing throughout the week highlighting some of my new favorite spots and activities in this wonderful city called Austin. I haven’t been in an actual record store in many, many years. MP3 and iTunes Music Store has all but shut down a majority of these once popular gems of our culture. Waterloo Records, backed by the Austinites that love it, maintains this tradition but also maintains to stay relevant in the digital lifestyle we’ve all grown accustomed to.
Threadgill’s is another of Austin’s restaurant/music venue combos that always makes for the perfect concert experience. The location on Riverside Dr, also known as Threadgill’s World Headquarters, was the host for the latest performance of the ubiquitous and amazing White Ghost Shivers.
After The Benson Interruption on Saturday night, I walked down 6th street towards The Ghost Room to see The Pauses play for a South By Southwest 2011 Festival record showcase.
